Hubs & I live in a 1 bedroom apartment with less than 1,000 square feet. Needless to say, we are a bit tight on space and it’s hard for me to hoard yarn. Not that I don’t do it, it’s just hard to justify my boxes full of yarn in our bedroom closet when I have no plan for it!
For the last couple of months I have been obsessed with making a scrap blanket or two with my millions of scraps, thus freeing up some space AND having an awesome blanket! I’ve been searching Pinterest for inspiration (you can follow me here: http://pinterest.com/kandiceo/) and thought I would share some of my favorites! I love the choice of colors here, but I think it would look great with a variety of “scrap” colors too. Akiyo got her inspiration from this great blanket from CocoRose:
I love this large continuous granny square! It might be a bit hard to make using scraps if you won’t have a lot of some of the outer colors, but it’s beautiful!
I’m obsessed with Matt’s blog, and I love this blanket. It’s so simple but with all the different colors makes such a big impact!
Very similar to this blanket is the one below by Sandra at Cherry Heart. I love her colors as well!
I love the chevron take on the traditional Granny stitch. HayLey has a great tutorial on this post for this pattern.
I actually found this on a Craftster forum and can’t track down any original blog, but I wanted to share this anyway. The black stripes between all the squares makes it look like stained glass.

This one isn’t in English, but this blanket is beautiful so I’m sharing anyway:
If you have a favorite Scrap Blanket feel free to share it in the comments! I’ll share pictures of mine as it comes along.
Hey!! I just started one, too! I am doing one round of granny square and doing join as you go – very tedious but A LOT of fun! I will take a pic and post it on your fb to see. I also started a Gumball blanket from Baby Love Brand Kids with scraps, too! Have fun – love scrapghans! You can see one I did here: There is a hex one and a Moorish one 🙂 http://www.flickr.com/photos/23674079@N02/page3/
Wow, that is beautfil! Thanks for sharing!!
Love all of these colourful blankets although I have to say the flower one is my No. 1. look forward to seeing which option you go for to use all your bits and pieces.
Here’s a pic of mine that is almost finished. It needs one more round and to sew in ALL those ends, but I think it’s turning out nicely. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152743898185092&set=pb.294442540091.-2207520000.1367341889.&type=3&theater

These blankets are lovely! What a great way to use up your scraps!

The last one with the flowers is my favorite!! I wanna try this one but now I’m working on a circles blanket. It is a idea too! Good luck and thank you for this post!
