I can’t believe how fast time flies!

Time goes by so fast! Sometimes I think things drag on, but when I really sit down and think about the things that have changed over the years I’m really surprised with how different my life is!

2 years ago:

  • Husby and I had been married for 6 months
  • Neither of us had great jobs
  • I was panicking because neither of us had great jobs
  • We had no idea what to do with our lives

Today:

  • Sweet Kiwi Crochet is going well enough that I work just 22 hours a week outside of the house
  • Husby is 1 week into student teaching and will be graduating in May!

I am so proud of him! He’s going to be such a great teacher!

Sock Monkey & Gift Certificate giveaway!

Camilla and CioCo Photography, one of my favorite photographers, and a great friend, is having a HUGE giveaway over on her blog! She’s giving away some awesome photo packages, and some other great stuff as well!

Grand prize includes your choice of the pink or red sock monkey hat from me (or $28 worth of patterns if you’d rather), and the 1st runner up will receive a $10 gift certificate from me towards either patterns or hats, as well as a Mini Photo Session from CioCo!

She took the photo of my sock monkey hats above. I also had her take pictures of my husband and I this fall, and she did awesome!

Creative funk

I mentioned a bit ago that I’m going to try and write at least 2 patterns a month throughout 2012.

Of course, as soon as I said that I went in to a creative funk! I have a whole list of patterns to write, I just can’t bring myself to get started on them!

How do I get out of this funk!?

My New Years resolution, 24 new patterns!

I know everyone makes New Years resolutions and then breaks them by February, but I really think mine is attainable this year!

I want to publish a minimum of 24 new patterns in 2012!

That’s only 2 per month, so it’s really not so many. In fact, I’m off to a good start, I got 2 published in the last 48 hours! True, I started them in 2011, but I’m counting it anyway.

So, now available in my Etsy shop you have-

The Puppy Dog Hat Pattern:

And the Marvin the Monkey Hat Pattern:

Have an idea for a pattern you think I should write? Leave it in the comments below, and if I haven’t already got it on my list of upcoming patterns and I actually write it, you’ll get a free copy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Stull Knits Love

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ve made numerous attempts at knitting, and I am a total failure! it’s so bad I can’t even hold the needle’s right.

Well it doesn’t matter anymore, because I met Raecale Stull, creator at Stull Knits. She sells at the Cache Valley Gardners Market, and Park Silly Sunday with me, and her stuff is AMAZING!

I bought the brown hat in the photo below, and I am seriously in love!

I’ve worn it all fall, and it’s so warm, and made really well!

But what makes Raecale seriously awesome is her slippers!

They’re hand-knitted, then felted, and then stitched with all kinds of different design! I’m really hoping I can find an excuse to buy some this year, because they are even more amazing in person that they are in these pictures!

So check out Raecale on Facebook and on Etsy , and if you want to buy me a pair, I wear a 6.5 and love red and turqoise!
